San Marcos, CA - Connexions Sports and
Entertainment’s Josh Grant returned to action at round 5 of the AMA
Toyota Motocross Championships Saturday night at Thunder Valley Raceway in Lakewood , Colorado .
Grant raced to an incredible 2nd overall finish at the first night race
ever for the sport. Returning from a level-five concussion sustained at the Las
Vegas Supercross finale, the GEICO Powersports Honda rider showed blazing speed
all weekend by throwing down the fastest time of the day on Friday qualifying
and by leading 13 of 16 laps in moto two of the Lites class before finishing 2nd
.
In the first moto, Grant ran a solid top
5 throughout the race and eventually finished in the 4th spot. In
the second moto, Grant picked up the BTOSports.com Holeshot award and took off
from the pack before succumbing to the pressure of points leader Ryan Villopoto
at the end of lap 13, and finished the moto in a strong 2nd
place. When asked about his weekend, Grant stated “I was just
happy to be back at the races. The doctor told me to literally do nothing for a
month, so that’s what I did. But I’ve been back on the bike for a
little over a week now and I felt good out there all weekend.”
