Damon Eller Prepares for $50k ‘Colossal 100’ this Weekend!

(CRUMPLER, NORTH CAROLINA)  The Independence Lumber Racing team, with Damon Eller behind the wheel of their #I4 MasterSbilt entry, invaded the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday evening, April 12 for the 'Glockner 50.'  The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned the one-day show, which was highlighted by a $10,000 to win feature event.

However, Damon suffered through motor issues throughout the night at the south-central Ohio speedplant and was unable to make the starting field for the 50-lap A-Main.  The Crumpler, North Carolina native timed in twenty-ninth quickest in qualifying and later finished twelfth in his heat race before retiring for the evening with the engine woes.  You can view complete results from the 'Glockner 50' online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The #I4 team will now turn their focus to the 3rd Annual ‘Colossal 100’ this coming weekend at the Dirt Track at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.  The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction the mega-event, which boasts a stout $50,000 payday.  Preliminary action will take place at the pristine Charlotte-area venue on Friday night, April 18, while Saturday’s portion of the program will be headlined by the 100-lap feature event.  You can view more information about the ‘Colossal 100’ online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

In addition to Damon competing at Lowe’s this weekend, asphalt upstart Cody Sommer will also pilot a #I4 entry during the ‘Colossal 100.’  Cody has done some testing with the Independence Lumber Racing team this season at the Cherokee (SC) Speedway and both parties are excited to join forces again this upcoming weekend.  You can learn more about Cody and his Sommer Motorsports team online at www.codysommer.com.
