Damon Eller Competitive in Season-Opening Events at Golden Isles and East Bay !
(CRUMPLER, NORTH CAROLINA ) Damon Eller and the Independence Lumber Racing team kicked off their 2008 racing season at the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick , Georgia and the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton , Florida from January 23-February 9. In all, the #I4 team entered twelve Dirt Late Model events, six at GIS and six at East Bay . Damon was able to place his #I4 MasterSbilt machine into the starting field for six of the feature events, with his best finishes being a pair of eleventh place efforts at Brunswick during the ‘Super Bowl of Racing.’

“We had good racecars down at Golden Isles and East Bay and we posted a couple of good runs,” quoted Eller following his stint down south. “The competition level was so high down there that you really had to be on top of your game just to get into the feature event. We learned some things about the cars that will hopefully help us throughout the year and I gained a lot of quality experience racing against that level of competition for so many nights!”
The Independence Lumber Racing team is currently regrouping from the busy stretch of racing action in Georgia and Florida . Their next scheduled event will be the $10,000 to win O’Reilly Southern Allstars East Series show at the Cherokee (SC) Speedway on Sunday, March 2. Their tentative March schedule is posted below:
