GAYLORD, Mich. (Feb. 18, 2008) – Friday and Saturday, February 15 – 16, Torco Racing Fuels, Inc. played host to COSDRA’s World Series and Muscle Sled Mania. The event, new to Gaylord, Michigan, boasted some of North America’s top snowmobile drag racers. The event was unable to be completed due to extreme weather; however, some classes were able to begin the elimination process.
“This was an exciting event to bring to Gaylord,” stated Torco Racing Fuels Owner & President, Evan Knoll. “We at Torco are committed to supporting many avenues of racing and high performance vehicles, including snowmobile racing.”
Low qualifiers were Brett Hoag in Top Fuel with a 4.91, 132 MPH; Tuna Duncanson in Heavy Mod with a 4.75, 134 MPH; Matt Robertson in Pro Mod with a 5.24, 126 MPH; Marco Poirer in Open Stock with a 6.29, 100 MPH; Rob Schooping in Lake Racer, All Motor with a 5.13, 132 MPH; and Brett Huff in Lake Racer, Power Adder with a 4.67, 143 MPH.
With the event not being able to be finished, most classes were still in eliminations. The final competitors in each class were noted for their placements thus far. In the regular class’s the finalists included, Will O’Hara and Derek Deker in the Stock 700 class; Kevin Jefferson and Dan Fisher in the Pro 800 Class; Ron Keyser in the Lite 500 class; Josh Moffat and Monty Kroscl in the Lite 700 class; Jason Dunigan and Timmy Yam in the Heavy 700 class; Kelly Shiltz, Mark Paninski, Dan Carlson and Chad Bellmore in the IMP 1000 class; Dan Carlson and Shawn Pierce in the IMP 600 class; Tim Magnin and Clay Rafferty in the Heavy 800 class; Bob Blowshine and Tim Falbe in the Heavy 440 class; Clark Racino and Pat Boucher in the Heavy 600 class; Walter Joy and Tina Duncanson in the Lite 1000 class; Steve Hulstnell and Bill Bank in Vint AA; Mike Ward and Fred Stiftler in Vint Open; Ted Kelich and Steve Hugenell in Vint Heavy; and sled No. 69 and 7 in Vint A.
The finalists in Saturday’s Drag Jumps were Bryan Eckel and Dylan Hoffern in Stock 600; Gary Fetlig and Andrew Jeffrey in Stock 800; Gary Fetlig and Austin Hoffner in Open Stock; Gary Fetlig and Jim Geblein in IMP 600; Eric Pietron, Greg Rodulski and Allan Dolecki in IMP 800; Gary Fetlig in IMP Open; Gary Fetlig and Adam Petty in Mod 600; Eric Pietron and Gary Fetlig in Mod 800; and Rick Tiede, Eric Pietron and Adam Petty in Mod Open.
In Trail Drag snow Dead 1 Dave, Chase Greulich, and Fred Hollenback were in IMP 600 semifinal; Les Ferenczy, Randy Reiman, Dead 1 Dave and Chase Grevlich in IMP 700, Dave Cummis, Kelly Shilts and Lucas Morse in IMP 1000; Jon Clary, Dave Dunn, Glenn Hall and Phil Serra in KOT Power Adder semifinal; and Jason Price, Jon Clary and John Davey in KOT all motor semifinal.
The event boasted multiple drag racing classes including professional and amateur. Additionally, Drag Cross and King of the Trail classes were run.
