POMONA, Calif., November 3, 2007 -- Clay Millican looked relieved . . . and he was Saturday evening after his drag racing season officially closed. 

 

Millican couldn't get Evan Knoll's RATT Back for More Tour Top Fuel dragster into the starting lineup for Sunday's Auto Club Finals.  His best run was 4.714 seconds as he completed his first full season of NHRA POWERade Series competition.

 

"Sometimes no matter how hard you try, it doesn't work out," Millican said.  "We didn't go out the way we wanted to, but we are ready to regroup and start over.  They say tough years build character and we are tough characters."

 

The 2008 season begins with the Winternationals, Feb. 7-10, at Pomona.
