POMONA, Calif., Nov. 1, 2007 -- Dave Connolly's first qualifying run Thursday for the important Auto Club Finals wasn't what he was looking for, but he has three more sessions to improve before Sunday's eliminations.

 

Connolly, 48 points behind Greg Anderson in the POWERade Series Pro Stock title chase, said the Torco Racing Fuels Chevy Cobalt "did a Super Stock-style wheel stand and it wasn't a good run." He was 11th, 6.713 seconds at 206.76 mph, in the lone attempt of the day.

 

Connolly has one more run slated Friday and two more Saturday before Sunday's important eliminations.
