TORCO Racing Fuels and T3 saves the Reunion

Saturday, October 13, 2007

Racing is taking shape this weekend at the 16th annual Automobile Club of Southern California Hot Rod Reunion held at the famed Famoso (Bakersfield) facility without a glitch (except for a few rain showers) thanks to TORCO Racing Fuels and Dan Dickey from T3 Race Fuels/Dickey Petroleum.

"At the last minute I was told by officials that the regular fuel supplier for the track was unable to meet their needs for the Reunion" said Dan.

Dickey had already planned to head south from his Central California facility to Randy Goodwin's Southern California shop to be fitted in the TORCO Racing Fuels/Knoll Gas Motorsports top alcohol funny car when he got the call. "I knew the importance of this event, especially the historic aspects. I was the only one in our plant with plans to head south, so we loaded up the truck with drums of TORCO's finest and headed south to Bakersfield to make the delivery."

Dan looked at this as an opportunity to show everyone how serious T3 is in meeting the racing fuel needs of everyone in his market area. "It was really no big deal,"said Dan. "As racers ourselves we consider the racers our friends. It's just something you do for your friends without giving it a second thought. I guess that's the difference between a company like TORCO that is actually involved in the sport compared to companies that just sell products to make money. Good customer service isn't always about making money. It's about being there when they need you."

After the delivery Dan made it to Randy's shop adjacent to Anaheim Stadium on time. Two weeks ago Dan completed a session in top alcohol funny car at Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School and is looking forward to making additional runs in Randy's car to complete the licensing procedure and get up to speed.

"Randy has done a great job representing Evan (Knoll), TORCO and T3 this year and he has a fast hot rod. When the opportunity to drive for Randy next year presented itself I decided it would be in our best interest to go for it. I'm looking forward to making a lot of laps in the next several weeks. I couldn't be happier!"
