J.R. Todd 19th with Two Sessions to Go at Indy |
SKULL Shine Dragster Runs 4.601 Seconds
CLERMOND, Ind., Sept. 1, 2007 -- J.R. Todd ran to his best qualifying run in Saturday's second session of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park, but the 4.601-second time wasn't quick enough to put him among the top 16.
The SKULL Shine dragster did not get down the track on its first runs Friday night and Saturday, and crew chief Kevin Poynter made sure the car made it on the third lap. Todd does get two runs Sunday to climb back into the starting line-up.
"I hope the weather stays cool enough so we can make a good run in Saturday's first session," said Todd. He is only six-thousandths of a second slower than the 16th qualifier. |
